I would like to add a reference about inverse modeling used in order to quantify geochemical mixing in groundwater.

Link to paper:

Carucci, V., Petitta, M., and Aravena, R. (2012). Interaction between shallow and deep aquifers in the Tivoli Plain (Central Italy) enhanced by groundwater extraction: A multi-isotope approach and geochemical modeling. Applied Geochemistry, 27 (1), 266-280.

PHREEQC and Netpath can be used for inverse modeling. The PHREEQC manual is a reference, and includes a citation to a Water Resources Research article by me (D.L. Parkhurst) that describes the numerical method. Netpath also has a manual published by the USGS.

Hi vcarucci,

Thanks for uploading the paper. To prevent any issues with copyright I have replaced the upload with a link to the original paper in Applied Geochemistry on Science Direct.

Thanks
