Trying to install PHREEQC batch on MacBook Air

(1/1)

Brison_Willis:
Hello PHREEQC folks
I am trying to install PHREEQC batch on my MacBook Air 2018 (v10.14.6, 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3).  I succeeded getting through several steps listed below but then I get an error message (see below).

WOULD ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Step #1: I downloaded ?Linux (any processor): phreeqc-3.8.6-17100.tar.gz? from USGS and saved folder to my desktop.
Step #2: Used the smiley face FINDER to find ?run phreeqc?
Step #3: I followed RUN prompts and navigated to the downloaded ?examples? folder and chose the ?ex1?
Step #4: When prompted, I chose to save in the ?examples folder? (which was default).
Step#5: It then asks to select a Database and I chose ?phreeqc.dat?.
Step #6: But then yikes then this error message pops up.

THX!!

First, try using the version  3.8.7 from https://visions-of-quality.com/macphreeqc/macphreeqcdl/

Brison_Willis:
Thx.  I was able to download it ("MacPHREEQC.dmg") to my Documents folder.   Upon doubleclicking the MacPHREEQC button it tells me "You can?t use this version of the application ?MacPHREEQC? with this version of macOS.... You have macOS 10.14.6. The application requires macOS 11.3 or later."

dlparkhurst:
I'm not a Mac user, but I think your operating system is getting pretty old. You can try to contact Brian at visions-of-quality.com to see if there is anything that can be done.
