1-D flow modeling: changing your column diameter

Hello,
I am modeling a system that doubles the initial column's diameter, thus x4 the volume in each given cell. I know how to convert the velocity due to the change in diameter of the column, but I was wondering if I must multiply my initial solution by 4 to be accounting for the increase in volume into the first cell?

I think not, assuming the ratio of reactants to solution volume does not change.
