How to determine number of cells
« on: 24/06/19 13:23 »
Dear everyone,

When we couple phreeqc with another multiphase simulator, how to determine the number of cells?

Kind Regards,

I assume your transport simulator has a number of cells. If all are active, you probably need the same number of PHREEQC cells.

If you are using PhreeqcRM, the number of chemistry cells may differ from the number of transport cells because of inactive zones, or symmetry (if the problem is logically 2-D, but the simulator is always 3-D, one layer may be equivalent to another). PhreeqcRM allows a mapping between transport cells and cells for which chemistry calculations are needed.

Dear David,

Could you let me know that which parameter in the multiphase simulator corresponds to the cells in PHREEQC?

Best Regards,

Can't help you. I don't know anything about your transport simulator.

Hi David,

How about the PHAST? When coupling PHREEQC and HST3D, which parameters in HST3D correspond to cells in PHREEQC?

Best Regards,
