Geothermal model - COMSOL - Phreeqc - iCP - 4 Phase model
« on: 18/06/19 18:04 »
Hallo Phreeqc Users,

I'm currently investigating whether it is realistic to create a model with four phases (super critical, gas, liquid, gas-liquid) for a geothermal field model. Pressure range is 0-350 bar. And temperature range 28-350C. If a wider range is possible great!

Schematic Representation on slide 5:

Are there people here with experience in working with COMSOL, iCP and Phreeqc together? Or perhaps just COMSOL or Phreeqc (separately).

Thanks for your time and feedback.

Update/Notes to self:
Water fraction in gas. Does COMSOL calculate this or can it be done in Phreeqc. Under which circumstances?
Does CO2 in gas phase react with rocks? H2S? How about H2O(g) (clay swelling)?
How flexible is the COMSOL / Phreeqc iCP coupling. What does Phreeqc need exactly for a reliable calculation. T, p, is normally given by COMSOL. If I were to only look at gas/liquid-gas/liquid, where the liquid fraction might be best expressed by S (saturation of water in rock), would this be a way to by past the relevance of vapour (water) issues in phreeqc.
