Phreeplot

Good Day,

I am curious to know if any of you'll has used Phreeplot?
I am having a problem trying to figure out how to use it.
I currently use PhreeqC (version 3).
I have read through the Phreeplot manual, which explains the installation etc, however i am still having a problem.
I am using Windows 10, so not sure if this maybe be causing the issue.

Anyway any assistance would be welcome.

My earlier reply appears to have been lost when my connection failed so  I will try again.

I have used PhreepPlot for about five years now and it is a great program for preparing figures and fitting PHREEQC model parameters.  I have run it on Windows 7 and 10 machines.  I believe that David Kinniburgh has also prepare a LINUX version.

Earlier versions of PhreePlot required linking the path for another graphics program called Ghostscript to PhreePlot through the pp.set file.  Getting the path worked out was often a problem and the program would issue an error statement and stop.  However, David Kinniburgh wrote a new version in April 2018 with corrections on May 13th that fix the problem.  So I will not go into the issues that existed in trying to set up earlier versions of the program.  Just get the latest download version and try installing that. You still may need to or want to install the GSView program (watch the name of this program when you download it).

I suggest you use the template approach and find an example that is close to what you want to do in the Demo subdirectory and then replace the CHEMISTRY block in the input file (*.ppi) with your model.  Unfortunately, there a not a lot of examples for fitting in that subdirectory or at least a few years ago there were not many examples.   

I do offer a course that covers PhreePlot we typically spend over a day with PhreePlot.  This is my advanced course so it assumes some basic knowledge of PHREEQC syntax, we also review PHREEQC and use PHAST.  It is given infrequently, but if I do run another version of that course, or actually any course, I will place an announcement in the courses section of this website.

Thank you for the reply.
I took your advice and managed to get Phreeplot installed.
I also ran a few examples from the Demo examples.

I havn't tweaked the input files to include my chemistry as yet, however that is on my list to do.

I will look out for one of your courses.
