Title: "Unexchanging"

Is it possible to calculate with PHREEQC a composition of an unknown solution that after its equilibration with the exchanger of known composition will give the known solution composition?

Seems like the unknown solution is not constrained. Suppose the reaction is simply exchange of Ca for Na. Taking the water in equilibrium with the exchanger, you can remove any amount of Na (up to the amount in solution) and replace it with an appropriate amount of Ca. Maybe the amount of exchanger provides some constraint, but I don't think you could determine the unknown water with any assurance.
